If somebody asked me about my progress from the first day I walked into this class, to the last day I walked out all I could say is that I learned so much. In middle school I took multimedia for two years and yes, I did learn a lot but that's nothing compared to what I learned in Mr.Bush's Digital Photography course. I've never had any experience with photoshop until this class but, the amount of tools and interesting new things I learned in this small period of time is incredible, I never knew some of these things were possible. I will take these new skills i've learned with me after this class.
Also in the course we worked with just taking photos in general, and what goes into these photos/makes these photos possible. Another big thing that goes into these photos are Aperture and shutter speed, I also learned a lot about these two topics and what they do to help a picture. The final outcome of progress i've made throughout this class is a lot, and i'm pretty sure anyone can say so about themselves also.

Today during the motion demo I learned that while taking a motion picture you need to make sure you have the right camera settings!!! It helps a lot and controls how the picture looks but, I also learned that when doing a motion picture you have to pan with your object which also means, follow your object as it's moving and go with the object at the same speed.
In the multiple me photo assignment we worked with Photo Stacks, Layer Masking, and Creativity. This was a very vey fun assignment it's definitely my favorite but, I created an image that composites many images of Katelyn into a scene. I first took a base photo and kept the camera on a tripod and didn't touch or move the camera the whole time, then after that I took many pictures of Katelyn and went into photoshop and use layers to add them together.
For photo number 7 I chose to do people and I really enjoyed this assignment partially because it involved my friends and partially because it's more open, and by saying that I mean there are more angles and things you can do with the picture to make it more interesting like, they could show different emotions or do different poses ect. Overall I personally thought that this was a really fun assignment especially since I took it at a dance competition in Toledo on saturday/sunday with all my friends. Shutter speed:1/60
Aperture:4.0 ISO:800 For editing this photo, I took out some saturation and took out some yellow colors and I also lowered the exposure. For the portrait assignment we worked with Layers, Framing a digital photo, Resizing photos and Adding text. We had to do two different kinds of photos, one was with window light and we had to use a white piece of paper to shine the light on the other side of her face and for the other one we used was a set up area.
For photo assignment number 6 I decided to choose the topic food. This ones actually kind of a harder topic to do because when using the same foods, you run out of angles, or ideas. But it was still interesting because I got to focus in on the different details or lines. aperture:5.6
Shutter speed:1/60 ISO:800 For editing this picture I enhanced the vibrance and saturation. I loved this assignment, it was definitely one of my favorites. In order to do this assignment we got to go around the school and shoot pictures of certain areas, and for each area you had to shoot three or more pictures side to side of the area. You also had to have the photos overlap so when they merge there's no glitch in the photo.
For my photo assignment 5 I tried working with animals. This one was definitely harder than others because you have to try to set up an interesting scene otherwise the picture will seem boring, but besides that this photo assignment was fun and different from the others. Shutter speed:1/60
Aperture:4.0 ISO:800 I didn't edit this picture a lot but, I did add some saturation and turned down the brightness. For my photo assignment number 4, I decided to use photos I took in the beginning of this class, and I use them for architecture and I realized for tis certain topic you really need to focus on angles and lighting.Aperture:4.0
Shutter Speed: 1/800 ISO:200 I didn't edit this picture at all, personally I like the picture how it is. |
